Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology with the potential to revolutionize various aspects of society. In the realm of criminology, the integration of AI tools and techniques has opened up new avenues for enhancing crime prevention and detection strategies in urban areas. This research aims to explore the impact of AI on crime prevention and detection in urban settings, focusing on its potential benefits, challenges, and implications for law enforcement agencies and communities. The study begins with an overview of the background of AI technology and its applications in the field of criminology. A detailed examination of the problem statement reveals the existing gaps in traditional crime prevention and detection methods, highlighting the need for innovative solutions to address the evolving nature of criminal activities in urban environments.
