Community policing is a proactive approach to law enforcement that emphasizes building strong relationships between police officers and the communities they serve. This study investigates the impact of community policing on reducing crime rates in urban areas. The research aims to explore the effectiveness of community policing strategies in enhancing public safety and reducing criminal activities in urban neighborhoods. The study begins with an introduction to the concept of community policing, providing a background of its evolution and principles. It then presents a detailed problem statement highlighting the challenges faced by traditional policing methods in urban areas and the potential benefits of community-oriented approaches. The objectives of the research are outlined, focusing on assessing the effectiveness of community policing programs in crime prevention and community engagement. The limitations of the study are acknowledged, including potential biases in data collection and the complexity of measuring the direct impact of community policing on crime rates.
