Restorative justice programs have emerged as a promising approach to addressing criminal behavior, focusing on repairing harm caused by crimes through dialogue, reconciliation, and community involvement. This research explores the impact of restorative justice programs on offender rehabilitation and recidivism rates. The study is motivated by the need to assess the effectiveness of restorative justice interventions in promoting positive outcomes for offenders and reducing the likelihood of reoffending. The research begins with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on restorative justice, offender rehabilitation, and recidivism. This review highlights the theoretical foundations and key principles of restorative justice, as well as empirical evidence regarding its impact on offender outcomes and recidivism rates. The literature review also examines the challenges and limitations of restorative justice programs, providing a critical analysis of their effectiveness in promoting rehabilitation and reducing recidivism. The methodology section outlines the research design, data collection methods, and analysis techniques employed in this study. A mixed-methods approach is utilized, combining quantitative analysis of recidivism rates with qualitative interviews and case studies of offenders participating in restorative justice programs. The research sample includes both offenders engaged in restorative justice interventions and a control group of offenders undergoing traditional criminal justice processes. Findings from the study reveal the varied impact of restorative justice programs on offender rehabilitation and recidivism rates.
