The rise of social media platforms in recent years has transformed the way individuals communicate, interact, and share information. While social media has brought about numerous benefits, such as increased connectivity and information dissemination, there is a growing concern about its potential link to criminal behavior. This research project seeks to examine the relationship between social media use and criminal behavior, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms through which social media may influence criminal activities. The research will be guided by a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods to explore the complex interplay between social media use and criminal behavior. The study will involve a sample of participants drawn from diverse demographic backgrounds to ensure a comprehensive analysis of the subject matter. Data will be collected through surveys, interviews, and content analysis of social media posts to capture a holistic view of the phenomenon. Chapter One will provide an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study and outlining the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definitions of key terms.
