Body-worn cameras (BWCs) have emerged as a promising tool for enhancing police accountability and rebuilding public trust in law enforcement. This research project aims to conduct a comprehensive criminological analysis to investigate the impact of BWCs on police accountability and public trust. The study will explore the background and context surrounding the adoption of BWCs, identify the problem statement related to police accountability and public trust, outline the objectives, limitations, and scope of the study, highlight the significance of the research, and provide a structured overview of the research methodology. Chapter one will introduce the research topic, provide a background of the study, present the problem statement, specify the objectives, discuss the limitations and scope of the study, emphasize the significance of the research, outline the structure of the research, and define key terms to guide the reader through the study. Chapter two will consist of a comprehensive literature review that explores existing research on the impact of BWCs on police accountability and public trust. This section will critically analyze previous studies, identify key themes, and highlight gaps in the current literature to provide a foundation for the research. Chapter three will detail the research methodology employed in this study.
