Project Abstract

This project aims to explore the complex relationship between socioeconomic factors and juvenile delinquency, a pressing social issue that has far-reaching implications for individuals, communities, and society as a whole. Juvenile delinquency, defined as the engagement of minors in unlawful or socially unacceptable behavior, is a multifaceted problem that transcends individual responsibility, often rooted in the broader societal and economic landscape. The importance of this project lies in its potential to uncover the underlying drivers of juvenile delinquency, enabling more effective interventions and policy strategies to address this challenge. By examining the impact of socioeconomic factors, such as poverty, income inequality, family structure, and access to education and social services, this study aims to shed light on the complex interplay between an individual's social and economic circumstances and their propensity for delinquent behavior. The project will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research methods to paint a comprehensive picture of the problem. The quantitative aspect will involve the analysis of secondary data sources, such as crime statistics, demographic information, and socioeconomic indicators, to identify patterns, trends, and correlations between socioeconomic factors and juvenile delinquency rates.
