Project Abstract

The war against corruption in Nigeria has been a long-standing challenge that has hindered the country's development and eroded public trust in governance. This research project aims to examine the specific efforts and strategies employed in Owerri, a city in Nigeria, to combat corruption. The study will investigate the various anti-corruption measures implemented by the government, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders in Owerri. It will analyze the effectiveness of these initiatives in deterring corrupt practices and holding perpetrators accountable. Furthermore, the research will explore the role of technology in the fight against corruption in Owerri. It will assess the use of digital tools and platforms to promote transparency, enhance accountability, and facilitate the reporting of corrupt activities. In addition, the project will examine the challenges and obstacles encountered in the anti-corruption efforts in Owerri.
