Thesis Abstract

<p> This project aims to explore the biochemistry of drug metabolism in the eye, which plays a crucial role in determining the pharmacokinetics and efficacy of ophthalmic drugs. The project will focus on understanding the metabolic pathways involved in drug metabolism in the eye, including phase I and phase II reactions mediated by enzymes such as cytochrome P450s and glutathione S-transferases. Experimental techniques such as in vitro ocular models, mass spectrometry analysis, and pharmacokinetic studies will be employed to investigate the metabolism of specific drugs in the eye. The findings from this project will contribute to the optimization of ophthalmic drug formulations and the development of personalized medicine approaches for ocular diseases. <br></p>
