<p> The gastrointestinal tract plays a crucial role in drug metabolism and absorption. This project aims to explore the biochemistry of drug metabolism in the gut and its implications in drug bioavailability and efficacy. The project will involve studying the various metabolic enzymes and transporters present in the gut, as well as their roles in drug metabolism and drug-drug interactions. Additionally, the project will investigate the factors influencing drug absorption in the gut, such as pH, gut microbiota, and food-drug interactions. By understanding the biochemistry of drug metabolism in the gut, this project aims to contribute to the optimization of drug therapy and the development of more effective oral drug formulations. <br></p>
