<p> The emergence of drug-resistant bacteria poses a significant threat to public health. Understanding the biochemistry behind drug resistance mechanisms is crucial for developing effective strategies to combat bacterial infections. This project aims to investigate the biochemistry of drug resistance in bacteria by exploring the molecular mechanisms involved in antibiotic resistance. The project will focus on studying the enzymatic pathways responsible for antibiotic degradation, efflux pumps that remove antibiotics from bacterial cells, and the role of genetic mutations in conferring resistance. By elucidating the biochemistry of drug resistance, this research will contribute to the development of novel antimicrobial therapies. <br></p>
