Abstract
Climate change is increasingly recognized as a major driver of ecological shifts, impacting various aspects of wildlife behavior and distribution. Among the most affected organisms are migratory bird species, which rely on specific environmental cues for their annual migrations. This research project aims to investigate the impact of climate change on the behavior and distribution of migratory bird species, with a focus on understanding how changing environmental conditions are influencing their movement patterns and habitat selection. The study begins with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on migratory bird species, climate change, and related ecological concepts. This literature review highlights the current knowledge gaps and provides a foundation for the empirical research conducted in this study. Using a combination of field observations, satellite tracking data, and statistical analyses, the research methodology involves tracking the movements and behaviors of selected migratory bird species in different regions. By monitoring their responses to changing climate conditions, the study aims to elucidate the specific ways in which climate change is impacting the behavior and distribution of these species. The findings from the field observations and data analyses are discussed in detail in Chapter Four, providing insights into the complex interactions between migratory bird species and their changing environments. The results reveal significant shifts in migration timing, routes, and stopover locations, as well as alterations in breeding and wintering ranges. The implications of these changes are discussed in the context of conservation and management strategies for migratory bird species. The study underscores the urgent need for adaptive measures to mitigate the negative effects of climate change on these vulnerable populations and emphasizes the importance of international collaboration in addressing global environmental challenges. In conclusion, this research project contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the impact of climate change on migratory bird species, shedding light on the mechanisms driving these ecological shifts. By enhancing our understanding of these dynamics, the study aims to inform evidence-based conservation efforts and support the long-term sustainability of migratory bird populations in a changing world.
