Climate change poses a significant threat to marine biodiversity, particularly impacting delicate ecosystems such as coral reefs. This research project investigates the specific effects of climate change on coral reefs and aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the implications for marine biodiversity. The study focuses on a case study of coral reefs to understand the direct and indirect impacts of climate change on these ecosystems. Through a combination of field observations, data analysis, and literature review, this research aims to shed light on the current state of coral reefs in the face of climate change. Chapter one of the project introduces the research topic, provides background information on marine biodiversity, outlines the problem statement, specifies the objectives of the study, discusses the limitations and scope of the research, highlights the significance of the study, presents the structure of the research, and defines key terms to provide a clear understanding of the project. Chapter two consists of a detailed literature review that examines existing research on the impact of climate change on marine biodiversity, with a specific focus on coral reefs. The review covers ten key areas including the effects of rising sea temperatures, ocean acidification, extreme weather events, and other climate change-related factors on coral reef ecosystems. Chapter three delves into the research methodology, detailing the approach, research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. This chapter provides insights into the rigorous methodology employed to investigate the impact of climate change on marine biodiversity, specifically focusing on coral reefs.
