Abstract
Zoonotic diseases pose significant public health risks, particularly in rural communities where humans and animals frequently interact. This research aims to investigate the prevalence and risk factors of zoonotic diseases in rural communities to enhance understanding and inform public health interventions. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data on zoonotic disease prevalence and associated risk factors. The introduction section provides an overview of zoonotic diseases, emphasizing the importance of studying their prevalence and risk factors in rural settings. The background of the study highlights existing research gaps and the need for further investigation in this area. The problem statement identifies the lack of comprehensive data on zoonotic diseases in rural communities as a key research gap that this study aims to address. The objectives of the study include determining the prevalence of zoonotic diseases, identifying potential risk factors, assessing community knowledge and practices related to zoonotic disease prevention, and recommending strategies to mitigate these risks. The literature review chapter synthesizes existing research on zoonotic diseases, rural health, and community-based interventions to provide a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
