This research aims to assess the impact of gentrification on low-income communities in urban areas, focusing on understanding the social, economic, and spatial changes experienced by residents in these neighborhoods. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study examines the underlying factors driving gentrification, the mechanisms through which it occurs, and its consequences on vulnerable populations. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study and highlighting the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two delves into a detailed literature review, exploring various scholarly works on gentrification, urban development, displacement, social inequality, and community impacts. The chapter critically analyzes existing theories and empirical studies to build a solid theoretical framework for the research.
