This research project aims to assess the impact of gentrification on affordable housing in urban neighborhoods, focusing on understanding the dynamics that lead to housing unaffordability and displacement within these communities. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of housing data and qualitative interviews with key stakeholders to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issue. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of terms. The background section examines the historical context of gentrification and its relationship to affordable housing.
