Urban green spaces play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of urban life and promoting mental health among city residents. This research project aims to assess the impact of urban green spaces on mental health in city neighborhoods. The study will focus on exploring the relationship between access to green spaces and mental well-being, considering factors such as proximity, quality, and quantity of green spaces within city neighborhoods. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and spatial analysis, the research will investigate how urban green spaces influence mental health outcomes, such as stress reduction, mood improvement, and overall psychological well-being. Chapter one provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter two presents a comprehensive literature review, analyzing existing studies on the impact of urban green spaces on mental health and identifying gaps in current research. The review covers ten key themes, including the psychological benefits of nature exposure, the role of green spaces in stress reduction, and the importance of access to nature in urban settings. Chapter three outlines the research methodology, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations, limitations of the methodology, and strategies to ensure the validity and reliability of the research findings. Chapter four presents the findings of the study, highlighting the relationship between urban green spaces and mental health outcomes based on the analysis of survey responses, interviews, and spatial data.
