The rapid expansion of online learning platforms has transformed the landscape of education, offering students flexibility and accessibility to educational resources. However, the effectiveness of online learning in enhancing student performance remains a subject of debate. This research aims to investigate the various factors that influence student performance in online learning environments. The study will adopt a quantitative research approach to collect and analyze data from a diverse sample of students engaged in online learning. Chapter One of the research provides an introduction to the study, outlining the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that synthesizes existing research on factors influencing student performance in online learning environments. The review covers ten key areas, including student motivation, learning styles, technology proficiency, and instructor support. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including the research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, and data analysis procedures. The chapter also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the methodology. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, analyzing the data collected and exploring the relationships between different factors and student performance in online learning environments.
