Project Abstract

This project aims to investigate the profound impact of social media on interpersonal relationships in the digital age. As technology has become increasingly integrated into our daily lives, the way we interact and communicate with one another has undergone a significant transformation. The proliferation of social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has revolutionized the way we connect, share, and maintain relationships, both personal and professional. The primary objective of this study is to explore the multifaceted ways in which social media has influenced the dynamics of interpersonal relationships. It will delve into the various positive and negative implications of social media usage on the quality, depth, and longevity of our connections with family, friends, and acquaintances. This project will investigate how the constant exposure to curated online personas, the ease of virtual communication, and the blurring of boundaries between public and private spheres have impacted the nature of our interpersonal interactions. One of the key aspects to be examined is the influence of social media on the development and maintenance of personal relationships. The study will explore how the immediacy and ubiquity of social media have affected the way we initiate, cultivate, and sustain relationships, particularly among younger generations. It will analyze the potential benefits of social media, such as increased connectivity, the ability to maintain long-distance relationships, and the facilitation of social support networks.
