Abstract
The phenomenon of globalization has significantly altered the landscape of traditional religious practices worldwide. This research project delves into the multifaceted impact of globalization on traditional religious practices, exploring the various ways in which globalization influences and shapes the religious beliefs, rituals, and structures of different communities. Through a comprehensive literature review, the study examines how globalization has led to the spread of new ideas, technologies, and cultural norms that challenge and transform traditional religious practices. The research methodology involves a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews, surveys, and case studies to gather data and insights from practitioners of different religious traditions. The findings of this study reveal that globalization has both positive and negative implications for traditional religious practices. On one hand, globalization has facilitated the dissemination of religious teachings and practices to a global audience, fostering interfaith dialogue and understanding. On the other hand, globalization has also led to the commodification and commercialization of religious practices, diluting their authenticity and spiritual significance. The discussion of findings in this research project critically analyzes the complex interplay between globalization and traditional religious practices, highlighting the challenges and opportunities presented by this global phenomenon. It explores the ways in which traditional religious communities adapt to and resist the forces of globalization, negotiating their identities and beliefs in the face of rapid social and cultural change. In conclusion, this research project underscores the importance of understanding the impact of globalization on traditional religious practices in order to preserve and protect the diverse spiritual heritage of communities around the world.
