Project Abstract

This project aims to investigate the complex relationship between religious pluralism and social cohesion within diverse societies. Religious pluralism, the coexistence of multiple religious traditions within a single community, has become an increasingly prevalent feature of modern societies. While religious diversity can enrich cultural tapestries and foster cross-cultural understanding, it also presents unique challenges in maintaining social unity and collective identity. The primary objective of this study is to examine how the presence of diverse religious affiliations and practices influences the levels of social cohesion within a given community. Social cohesion, defined as the sense of belonging, trust, and cooperation among members of a society, is a crucial factor in the stability and well-being of communities. This project seeks to uncover the nuances and complexities that arise when religious pluralism intersects with social cohesion, exploring both the potential benefits and the potential tensions that may emerge. Through a multifaceted approach, the research will employ a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to gather and analyze data from various sources.
