Project Abstract

This project aims to explore the development and implementation of sustainable procurement strategies that can effectively mitigate the environmental impact of organizational operations. In today's world, where environmental consciousness is rapidly gaining momentum, the need for businesses and public sector organizations to adopt sustainable procurement practices has become increasingly crucial. By aligning their procurement decisions with environmental sustainability, these entities can not only reduce their carbon footprint but also contribute to the broader goal of creating a more sustainable future. The project will begin by conducting a comprehensive literature review to identify the current best practices and emerging trends in sustainable procurement. This research phase will provide a solid foundation for understanding the various strategies and techniques that have been successfully employed in different industries and contexts. The findings from this review will then be used to inform the development of a framework for sustainable procurement that can be tailored to the specific needs and constraints of the participating organizations. The next stage of the project will involve engaging with a diverse range of organizations, including private companies, government agencies, and non-profit entities, to assess their current procurement practices and identify areas for improvement. Through a series of in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, the project team will gather valuable insights into the challenges, barriers, and opportunities associated with implementing sustainable procurement strategies.
