This research project focuses on exploring the potential of open data initiatives in enhancing government transparency. The aim of this study is to investigate how open data initiatives can contribute to improving transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in public administration. The research will examine the background and context of open data initiatives, the challenges and limitations faced in implementing these initiatives, and the scope and significance of such initiatives in promoting transparency within government institutions. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the research. This chapter also defines key terms related to open data initiatives and government transparency. Chapter Two presents an extensive literature review, encompassing ten key themes related to open data initiatives, transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in public administration. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, detailing the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations of the study.
