Abstract
This research study explores the impact of e-government on citizen engagement in the field of public administration. In recent years, the integration of information and communication technologies (ICTs) into government services has transformed the way citizens interact with public institutions. This study aims to analyze how e-government initiatives influence citizen engagement practices and behaviors within the context of public administration. Through a comprehensive literature review, this research examines the theoretical foundations and empirical evidence surrounding e-government and citizen engagement. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definitions of key terms. Chapter Two delves into the literature review, exploring ten key themes related to e-government, citizen engagement, and their intersection in public administration. This chapter synthesizes existing knowledge and identifies gaps in the current literature. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology employed in this study, including the research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, and data analysis procedures. It also discusses ethical considerations and limitations of the research process. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, providing an in-depth analysis of the impact of e-government on citizen engagement in public administration. This chapter explores the implications of e-government initiatives on citizen participation, transparency, accountability, and service delivery. The discussion of findings in Chapter Four critically examines the results and relates them to the existing literature. It identifies key patterns, trends, and contradictions, offering insights into the complexities of e-government implementation and its effects on citizen engagement practices.
