Abstract
In recent years, e-government has become a prominent tool for enhancing citizen engagement in public administration. This research project explores the impact of e-government on citizen engagement within the realm of public administration. The study aims to investigate how the adoption of e-government initiatives influences citizen participation, communication, and overall engagement in government processes. The research methodology involves a comprehensive literature review to analyze existing studies on e-government, citizen engagement, and public administration. Data collection will be conducted through surveys, interviews, and case studies to gather insights from both government officials and citizens. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, background information, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and definition of key terms. Chapter 2 presents a detailed literature review covering ten key aspects related to e-government, citizen engagement, and public administration. Chapter 3 outlines the research methodology, including data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. Chapter 4 presents the findings of the study, discussing the impact of e-government on citizen engagement based on the data collected. The analysis includes insights into how e-government initiatives have influenced citizen participation, communication channels, transparency, and trust in public administration. The chapter also examines the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing e-government for citizen engagement. Finally, Chapter 5 presents the conclusion and summary of the research project. The findings are synthesized to highlight the key implications for public administration and recommendations for future research and policy development. Overall, this research contributes to the understanding of how e-government can enhance citizen engagement in public administration and improve governance practices for the benefit of society as a whole.
