This research project investigates the impact of social media on political participation in democracies. This study aims to explore the various ways in which social media influences political participation, including voting behavior, political mobilization, and civic engagement. By examining the relationship between social media usage and political participation, this research seeks to provide insights into the potential benefits and challenges that social media presents for democratic societies. The project begins with an introduction that outlines the background of the study, defines key terms, and presents the research objectives. The literature review in Chapter Two critically analyzes existing studies on the topic, highlighting the key findings and gaps in the current research.
