The rapid expansion and influence of social media platforms have transformed the landscape of political participation and civic engagement in contemporary society. This research study examines the impact of social media on political participation and civic engagement, focusing on how these platforms have reshaped the dynamics of citizen involvement in political processes. The study delves into the various ways in which social media have influenced political discourse, mobilization of citizens, and the overall engagement of the public in political activities. Through a comprehensive literature review, this research explores the existing scholarship on the subject, analyzing the theoretical frameworks and empirical evidence that highlight the relationship between social media use and political participation. The study also investigates the challenges and opportunities presented by social media in enhancing civic engagement and fostering a more participatory democracy. Methodologically, this research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of survey data with qualitative examination of case studies and interviews with key stakeholders in the political arena. By utilizing a diverse range of research methods, this study aims to provide a nuanced understanding of the complex interactions between social media platforms and political participation.
