This research study aims to explore the attitudes of undergraduate students towards democratic values and the implications for social studies education. With the rising importance of democracy in diverse societies around the world, understanding the attitudes of young individuals, particularly those in the undergraduate stage, becomes crucial. The research will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive data. The quantitative phase will involve the distribution of a structured questionnaire among a sample of undergraduate students from various disciplines. The survey will focus on assessing the students' understanding of democratic values such as freedom of speech, equality, tolerance, and participation in decision-making processes. Furthermore, it will investigate the extent to which students perceive the relevance and importance of these values in contemporary society. In the qualitative phase, in-depth interviews will be conducted with a subset of participants to gain deeper insights into the underlying reasons behind their attitudes towards democratic values.
