Cancer remains a significant global health concern, with targeted therapy emerging as a promising approach to improve treatment outcomes and minimize side effects. In the quest for more effective cancer treatment strategies, the development of novel drug delivery systems tailored for targeted cancer therapy has gained substantial attention. This research project aims to investigate and develop innovative drug delivery systems that can enhance the specificity and efficacy of cancer therapy while reducing adverse effects on healthy tissues. The study begins with a comprehensive review of the background of targeted cancer therapy, highlighting the limitations of current treatment approaches and the need for advanced drug delivery systems. Through a systematic literature review, ten key aspects of existing drug delivery systems and their applications in targeted cancer therapy will be critically analyzed to identify gaps and opportunities for innovation. The research methodology section outlines the experimental approach to be employed in designing and evaluating novel drug delivery systems for targeted cancer therapy. This includes the selection of materials, formulation techniques, and in vitro/in vivo evaluation methods to assess the efficacy and safety of the developed systems. The study will also investigate the pharmacokinetics, biodistribution, and tumor-targeting capabilities of the novel drug delivery systems. Chapter four presents a detailed discussion of the research findings, including the performance of the developed drug delivery systems in preclinical models of cancer. The analysis will focus on the efficacy of targeted drug delivery in reducing tumor growth, enhancing therapeutic outcomes, and minimizing off-target effects. Furthermore, the potential challenges and limitations encountered during the development and evaluation of the novel drug delivery systems will be addressed.
