This research project focuses on the optimization of enhanced oil recovery techniques in mature oil fields. The declining production rates in mature oil fields present a significant challenge for the oil and gas industry, necessitating the development and implementation of advanced recovery techniques to maximize oil production. The objective of this study is to investigate and evaluate various enhanced oil recovery methods, such as water flooding, gas injection, and chemical flooding, to determine the most effective approach for increasing oil recovery in mature oil fields. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review that discusses the current state of enhanced oil recovery techniques, including their applications, advantages, limitations, and recent advancements. In Chapter Three, the research methodology is detailed, covering aspects such as research design, data collection methods, data analysis techniques, and the selection criteria for evaluating enhanced oil recovery techniques. Chapter Four presents the findings of the study, including the comparative analysis of different enhanced oil recovery methods in mature oil fields, the factors influencing their effectiveness, and the key challenges encountered in their implementation.
