Abstract
Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques play a crucial role in rejuvenating production from mature oilfields, which have been subject to declining production rates. This comparative study investigates various EOR techniques to determine their effectiveness in optimizing oil recovery from mature oilfields. The research focuses on analyzing and comparing the performance of different EOR methods, including thermal, chemical, and gas injection techniques, in enhancing oil production and maximizing hydrocarbon reserves. The study begins with a comprehensive literature review that examines previous research on EOR techniques applied in mature oilfields. Various case studies and field applications of EOR methods are reviewed to provide insights into their benefits and limitations. The research methodology involves data collection from existing oilfields, numerical simulation studies, and laboratory experiments to evaluate the performance of different EOR techniques under varying reservoir conditions. Chapter four presents a detailed discussion of the research findings, highlighting the comparative analysis of EOR methods based on their effectiveness, cost implications, environmental impact, and applicability to different reservoir types.
