Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques play a critical role in maximizing hydrocarbon production from mature oil fields. As conventional oil production declines, EOR methods offer the potential to extract additional reserves and extend the economic life of these fields. This research focuses on investigating and evaluating various EOR techniques that can be applied to mature oil fields to enhance oil recovery efficiency. The research begins with a comprehensive review of the background of EOR, highlighting its significance in the oil and gas industry. The problem statement underscores the need for innovative EOR methods to address declining oil production in mature fields. The objectives of the study are to assess the effectiveness of different EOR techniques, identify their limitations, and determine their applicability in mature oil fields. The scope of the study encompasses a thorough examination of key EOR methods, including chemical, thermal, and gas injection techniques. A detailed literature review in Chapter Two examines ten key studies on EOR techniques, focusing on their applications, benefits, and limitations. The research methodology outlined in Chapter Three describes the approach taken to analyze and evaluate the various EOR methods. This includes data collection, analysis techniques, and simulation models used to assess the performance of different EOR techniques. Chapter Four presents a comprehensive discussion of the findings, evaluating the effectiveness of different EOR methods in enhancing oil recovery from mature oil fields. The chapter explores the factors influencing the selection and implementation of EOR techniques, such as reservoir characteristics, fluid properties, and economic considerations. The discussion also addresses the challenges and opportunities associated with the application of EOR methods in mature fields. Finally, Chapter Five provides a summary and conclusion of the research findings, highlighting the key insights gained from the study.
