Abstract
This research study focuses on investigating and analyzing the application of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques for mature offshore reservoirs. The aim of this study is to explore innovative methods that can increase oil recovery efficiency and extend the productive life of mature offshore fields. The challenges associated with mature offshore reservoirs, including declining production rates and increasing operational costs, necessitate the implementation of advanced EOR strategies to maximize oil extraction. The research begins with a comprehensive review of existing literature on EOR techniques, focusing on their applicability and effectiveness in the context of mature offshore reservoirs. This literature review covers various EOR methods such as chemical, thermal, and gas injection techniques, highlighting their strengths and limitations when applied to offshore environments. In the subsequent chapters, the research methodology is outlined in detail, encompassing the selection of case studies, data collection methods, and analytical approaches. The methodology section also includes a discussion on the criteria used to evaluate the performance of different EOR techniques in offshore reservoirs. The findings of this study are presented in Chapter Four, where the results of the analysis conducted on the selected case studies are discussed. The effectiveness of various EOR methods in enhancing oil recovery from mature offshore reservoirs is evaluated, taking into account factors such as reservoir characteristics, production rates, and economic viability. In conclusion, the research findings indicate that the successful application of EOR techniques in mature offshore reservoirs can lead to significant improvements in oil recovery rates and overall field productivity. The study highlights the importance of selecting the most suitable EOR method based on reservoir conditions and operational constraints to achieve optimal results. Overall, this research contributes to the body of knowledge on EOR strategies for mature offshore reservoirs and provides valuable insights for oil and gas industry professionals seeking to enhance production efficiency in challenging offshore environments.
