Abstract
This research study aims to investigate the effectiveness of telemedicine in managing pediatric asthma through a comparative analysis. Pediatric asthma is a common chronic respiratory condition affecting children globally, leading to significant morbidity and healthcare utilization. Telemedicine, as an innovative approach to healthcare delivery, has shown promise in improving access to care and disease management. However, its specific impact on managing pediatric asthma remains underexplored, particularly in a comparative context. The study will be guided by a mixed-methods research design, combining quantitative data analysis and qualitative insights from healthcare providers and caregivers. The research will involve two groups one receiving standard in-person care for pediatric asthma management and the other receiving care through telemedicine platforms. Key outcome measures will include asthma control, medication adherence, healthcare utilization, and patient satisfaction. In the literature review, the research will explore the current understanding of pediatric asthma management, the existing telemedicine interventions in pediatric care, and the outcomes of telemedicine in chronic disease management. The review will also highlight the potential benefits and challenges of telemedicine in pediatric asthma care. The research methodology will detail the study design, participant recruitment, data collection methods, and statistical analysis plan. Participants will include children diagnosed with asthma, their caregivers, and healthcare providers involved in their care. Data collection will involve standardized asthma control assessments, medication adherence monitoring, healthcare utilization records, and qualitative interviews. The discussion of findings will present a comprehensive analysis of the data collected, comparing outcomes between the two groups.
