Abstract
This research study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of telemedicine in the management of pediatric asthma, a chronic respiratory condition that affects a significant number of children worldwide. Telemedicine, which involves the use of telecommunications technology to provide healthcare services remotely, has emerged as a potential solution to improve access to care and enhance disease management for patients with chronic conditions like asthma. The study will investigate the impact of telemedicine on the management of pediatric asthma by assessing key outcomes such as disease control, treatment adherence, patient satisfaction, and healthcare utilization. The research will be conducted through a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative insights from healthcare providers, caregivers, and pediatric asthma patients. A systematic literature review will be conducted to establish the current state of knowledge regarding telemedicine applications in pediatric asthma care. The study will also involve the collection and analysis of primary data from pediatric asthma patients who have received telemedicine services, focusing on their experiences, perceptions, and clinical outcomes. The methodology will include the selection of participants from pediatric asthma clinics that offer telemedicine services, utilizing standardized assessment tools to measure asthma control, treatment adherence, and quality of life. In-depth interviews and focus group discussions will be conducted with healthcare providers, caregivers, and patients to explore their perspectives on the benefits and challenges of telemedicine in pediatric asthma management. Statistical analysis will be employed to compare clinical outcomes between patients receiving telemedicine and those receiving traditional in-person care. The findings of this research will contribute to the evidence base on the effectiveness of telemedicine in pediatric asthma management, providing insights into the potential benefits and limitations of this innovative approach. The results will inform healthcare professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders about the feasibility and impact of integrating telemedicine into routine pediatric asthma care.
