Abstract
This research study aims to investigate the effectiveness of telemedicine in managing pediatric asthma. Asthma is a common chronic respiratory condition in children that requires ongoing monitoring and management to prevent exacerbations and improve quality of life. Telemedicine, which involves the use of telecommunications technology to deliver healthcare services remotely, has emerged as a promising tool in managing chronic conditions like asthma. This study will explore the potential benefits and challenges of using telemedicine to monitor and manage pediatric asthma. The research will be conducted using a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of patient outcomes and qualitative interviews with healthcare providers and caregivers of children with asthma. A sample of pediatric asthma patients receiving telemedicine services will be compared with a control group receiving traditional in-person care. Outcome measures will include asthma control, frequency of exacerbations, medication adherence, and caregiver satisfaction. The literature review will provide a comprehensive overview of the current research on telemedicine in pediatric asthma management, highlighting the potential advantages such as improved access to care, reduced healthcare costs, and increased patient engagement. The review will also address potential limitations of telemedicine, including technological barriers, privacy concerns, and challenges in establishing trust and rapport between healthcare providers and patients.
