This research study investigates the implementation of an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) to enhance workflow efficiency within small business environments. The growing reliance on digital documentation and the need for streamlined processes have made EDMS solutions essential for organizational success. The study aims to explore the benefits of adopting an EDMS in small businesses, analyze the challenges faced during implementation, and provide recommendations for a successful integration process. The research methodology employed a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches, including surveys, interviews, and case studies. A sample of small businesses was selected to participate in the study, representing various industries and organizational structures. Data was collected on current document management practices, existing workflow processes, and the impact of manual systems on operational efficiency. The literature review revealed the significance of EDMS in modern business operations, highlighting its role in enhancing document security, improving accessibility, and streamlining collaboration.
