Abstract
This research project focuses on the implementation of a Document Management System (DMS) in a corporate environment. The rapid evolution of technology has necessitated the digitization and organization of documents within organizations to enhance efficiency and productivity. The objective of this study is to investigate the benefits, challenges, and best practices associated with implementing a DMS in a corporate setting. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review to examine existing studies, theories, and frameworks related to document management systems. Primary data will be collected through surveys and interviews with employees and managers from various departments within a selected corporate organization. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, including the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a detailed literature review covering ten key aspects related to document management systems, such as the importance of DMS, types of DMS, benefits and challenges, implementation strategies, and success factors. Chapter Three outlines the research methodology, including the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, data analysis procedures, and ethical considerations. The chapter also discusses the selection criteria for the corporate organization and participants involved in the study. In Chapter Four, the findings from the data analysis are presented and discussed in detail. The chapter highlights the key themes emerging from the survey responses and interview transcripts, providing insights into the perceptions, experiences, and recommendations of employees and managers regarding the implementation of a DMS. Finally, Chapter Five offers a conclusion and summary of the research project, emphasizing the key findings, implications, and recommendations for practitioners and researchers. The study aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on document management systems and provide practical guidance for organizations looking to implement or improve their DMS. In conclusion, this research project on the implementation of a Document Management System in a corporate environment seeks to enhance understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with digital document management.
