This research study aims to investigate the effectiveness of telehealth in managing chronic pain among elderly patients in long-term care facilities. Chronic pain is a prevalent issue among the elderly population, often leading to decreased quality of life and functional impairment. Telehealth, which involves the use of technology to deliver healthcare services remotely, has emerged as a potential solution to improve access to pain management for elderly patients in long-term care settings. The study will commence with a comprehensive review of the existing literature on telehealth interventions for managing chronic pain in the elderly population. The literature review will explore the various telehealth modalities and tools utilized in pain management, as well as their reported effectiveness and limitations. Additionally, it will examine the unique needs and challenges faced by elderly individuals in long-term care facilities regarding pain management. Following the literature review, the research methodology will be outlined, detailing the study design, participant recruitment strategies, data collection methods, and data analysis procedures. The study will employ a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys to assess pain outcomes and qualitative interviews to gather in-depth insights into the experiences and perceptions of both patients and healthcare providers regarding telehealth for chronic pain management.
