Abstract
Telehealth has emerged as a promising solution to improve healthcare accessibility and delivery, particularly for the management of chronic diseases in older adults. This systematic review aims to investigate the impact of telehealth interventions on chronic disease management in older adult populations. The study will provide a comprehensive analysis of existing literature to evaluate the effectiveness, challenges, and implications of telehealth in addressing the healthcare needs of older adults with chronic conditions. The research will begin with a thorough examination of the theoretical background and rationale for utilizing telehealth in chronic disease management. This will be followed by a detailed exploration of the current landscape of telehealth interventions for older adults, including the types of technologies used, the range of chronic diseases targeted, and the outcomes reported in previous studies. A critical review of the literature will be conducted to identify key themes, trends, and gaps in the existing research on telehealth in chronic disease management for older adults. The review will consider factors such as the effectiveness of telehealth interventions in improving health outcomes, patient satisfaction, adherence to treatment plans, and healthcare resource utilization. The research methodology will involve a systematic search and screening of relevant studies, data extraction, quality assessment, and synthesis of findings using a thematic analysis approach. The study will also explore potential limitations and biases in the reviewed literature, as well as the implications of the findings for clinical practice, policy development, and future research directions.
