Abstract
This research study explores the impact of telehealth on improving access to healthcare services for elderly patients in rural areas through a comparative analysis. The project aims to address the growing need for innovative healthcare solutions to bridge the gap in healthcare access for elderly individuals residing in rural communities. Telehealth, which involves the use of technology to deliver healthcare services remotely, has emerged as a promising solution to enhance healthcare access, particularly for underserved populations such as the elderly in rural areas. The research methodology employed in this study includes a comprehensive literature review to examine existing evidence on the effectiveness of telehealth interventions in improving healthcare access for elderly patients. The study also involves the collection and analysis of data from two rural communities to compare the impact of telehealth interventions on healthcare access and outcomes for elderly patients. Chapter one provides an introduction to the research topic, highlighting the background of the study, the problem statement, research objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter two presents a detailed literature review encompassing ten key aspects related to telehealth, healthcare access for elderly patients, rural healthcare challenges, and the comparative analysis of telehealth interventions. Chapter three outlines the research methodology, including research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations. The chapter also discusses the selection criteria for the two rural communities participating in the study and the rationale behind the comparative approach. Chapter four presents a comprehensive discussion of the research findings, analyzing the impact of telehealth interventions on healthcare access, quality of care, patient outcomes, and satisfaction levels for elderly patients in rural areas. The chapter also examines the challenges and benefits associated with implementing telehealth solutions in rural healthcare settings.
