The utilization of telehealth technology in healthcare has become increasingly prevalent, offering new avenues to enhance patient care and management, particularly in the context of chronic diseases among older adults. This comparative study aims to explore the impact of telehealth technology on chronic disease management in older adults. The research will investigate the effectiveness of telehealth interventions in improving health outcomes, enhancing patient engagement, and optimizing healthcare delivery for this demographic group. The study will compare traditional in-person care with telehealth interventions to assess their respective advantages and limitations in managing chronic diseases among older adults. The research will be guided by a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. A comprehensive literature review will be conducted to provide a theoretical framework and contextual background on telehealth technology, chronic disease management, and the unique healthcare needs of older adults. The study will also examine existing telehealth programs and interventions targeting chronic disease management in this population to identify best practices and potential areas for improvement. The research methodology will involve recruiting a sample of older adults with chronic diseases who will be divided into two groups one receiving traditional in-person care and the other receiving care through telehealth technology. Data collection will include clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction surveys, and qualitative interviews to gather insights into the experiences and perceptions of participants. Statistical analysis will be employed to compare health outcomes, healthcare utilization, and patient satisfaction between the two groups. The findings from this study are expected to provide valuable insights into the impact of telehealth technology on chronic disease management in older adults, shedding light on the benefits and challenges of integrating telehealth into routine care practices. The results will contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting the use of telehealth interventions in improving healthcare access, quality, and outcomes for older adults with chronic conditions.
