Abstract
This systematic review investigates the impact of telehealth on chronic disease management in older adults. The aging population faces increasing challenges in managing chronic diseases, necessitating innovative solutions such as telehealth to improve access to care and enhance health outcomes. The study aims to synthesize existing literature to assess the effectiveness of telehealth interventions in managing chronic diseases among older adults. A comprehensive search strategy was employed to identify relevant studies, focusing on telehealth interventions targeting chronic disease management in older adult populations. The review includes randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and systematic reviews published in peer-reviewed journals. The findings reveal the potential benefits of telehealth in improving access to care, enhancing self-management skills, promoting medication adherence, and reducing hospital admissions among older adults with chronic diseases. However, challenges such as technological barriers, limited access to telehealth services, and concerns regarding privacy and security need to be addressed to maximize the impact of telehealth interventions in this population. The review underscores the significance of integrating telehealth into routine care for older adults with chronic diseases and highlights the need for further research to optimize telehealth strategies tailored to the unique needs of this population. Overall, this systematic review provides valuable insights into the role of telehealth in chronic disease management for older adults and offers recommendations for enhancing telehealth implementation in clinical practice.
