Abstract
Telemedicine has emerged as a promising solution to address healthcare disparities in rural communities by providing access to healthcare services remotely. This research study aims to explore the impact of telemedicine on patient care in rural communities from a nursing perspective. The study will investigate how telemedicine interventions influence patient outcomes, nursing practices, and healthcare delivery in rural settings. A mixed-methods approach will be employed, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods to gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Chapter One provides an introduction to the research topic, outlining the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure of the research, and definition of key terms. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review on telemedicine, rural healthcare challenges, nursing roles in telemedicine, patient care outcomes, and existing research on the topic. Chapter Three details the research methodology, including research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and limitations of the study. Chapter Four discusses the findings of the research study, presenting and analyzing the data collected from healthcare providers, patients, and other stakeholders involved in telemedicine services in rural communities. The chapter explores the impact of telemedicine on patient care quality, access to healthcare services, nursing practices, patient satisfaction, and overall healthcare outcomes in rural settings. The discussion also highlights the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing telemedicine in rural healthcare settings. In Chapter Five, the conclusion and summary of the research project are provided, offering key insights, implications for nursing practice and policy, recommendations for future research, and concluding remarks on the significance of telemedicine in improving patient care in rural communities.
