This research project aims to investigate the sentiment and emotion expressed in music lyrics using natural language processing (NLP) techniques. The study focuses on the application of NLP tools and methodologies to extract and analyze sentiment and emotion from a diverse range of music lyrics. Chapter one provides an introduction to the research topic, background information, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance of the study, and the structure of the research. The chapter also includes a definition of key terms relevant to the study. Chapter two comprises a comprehensive literature review that explores existing research on sentiment analysis, emotion detection, and the use of NLP in analyzing music lyrics.
