Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) has emerged as a promising approach to improve healthcare delivery, particularly in resource-limited rural settings. This research project aims to investigate the implementation of POCT in rural healthcare settings and its impact on patient outcomes. The study will focus on assessing how the integration of POCT technologies influences the quality of care, patient satisfaction, and overall health outcomes in rural communities. Chapter One of the research provides an introduction to the study, discussing the background, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and defining key terms related to the research topic. Chapter Two presents a comprehensive literature review, exploring ten key themes related to POCT implementation in healthcare settings, including benefits, challenges, best practices, and current trends. In Chapter Three, the research methodology is outlined, detailing the research design, sampling techniques, data collection methods, data analysis procedures, ethical considerations, and potential limitations of the study. The chapter also discusses the theoretical framework guiding the research and the rationale for the chosen methodology. Chapter Four presents a detailed discussion of the research findings, analyzing the impact of POCT implementation on patient outcomes in rural healthcare settings. The chapter explores seven key areas, including improvements in diagnostic accuracy, treatment efficiency, healthcare access, cost-effectiveness, healthcare provider satisfaction, patient engagement, and overall health outcomes. Lastly, Chapter Five concludes the research project by summarizing the key findings, discussing their implications for healthcare practice and policy, highlighting the significance of the study, and offering recommendations for future research and practice in the field of POCT implementation in rural healthcare settings.
