Project Abstract

Abstract
This research project aims to evaluate the government's attitude towards the media in Nigeria during the democratic dispensation period from 1999 to 2006. The study seeks to analyze the interactions between the government and the media within the context of a transitioning democracy in Nigeria. The research will delve into the policies, actions, and rhetoric of the government towards the media during this period to assess the level of freedom, support, and cooperation extended to media organizations and practitioners.
