By conducting a case study approach, this research aims to provide insights into the mechanisms through which social media platforms contribute to the evolution of English slang. The study begins with an exploration of the theoretical background underlying the relationship between social media and language evolution. Drawing on relevant literature in linguistics, sociolinguistics, and digital communication studies, the research situates the study within the broader context of language change and sociocultural influences on linguistic practices.
