Social media platforms have become integral parts of daily life for young adults, influencing various aspects of communication and language use. This research project investigates the impact of social media on language use and communication patterns in young adults. The study aims to explore how social media platforms shape language choices, communication styles, and interaction patterns among this demographic. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, presenting background information on the prevalence of social media use among young adults. The problem statement highlights the need to understand the implications of social media on language and communication, while the research objectives outline the specific goals of the study. The chapter also discusses the limitations and scope of the research, emphasizing the significance of examining this phenomenon and providing a clear structure for the study.
