This research project analyzes the theme of criminality and poor leadership at all levels of governance as depicted in Kaine Agary's novel "Yellow-Yellow." The study delves into the intertwined issues of corruption, criminality, and ineffective leadership within the context of the Nigerian society portrayed in the novel. Through a close reading of the text, the research examines how the characters' actions and decisions reflect the societal norms and challenges prevalent in Nigeria. The analysis focuses on the character of Yellow, a young girl who becomes entrapped in a life of crime and prostitution due to the lack of viable opportunities and guidance in her environment. Yellow's story serves as a microcosm of the broader societal issues stemming from poor governance and leadership failures.
