The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized various industries, and the field of library and information science is no exception. This research project aims to explore the impact of AI in library cataloging and metadata management. The study delves into how AI technologies, such as machine learning algorithms and natural language processing, are being utilized to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of library cataloging processes. Chapter 1 provides an introduction to the research topic, discussing the background of the study, problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, structure, and key definitions. The chapter sets the stage for the subsequent chapters by outlining the context and rationale for the research. Chapter 2 presents a comprehensive literature review that examines existing studies, articles, and reports related to AI applications in library cataloging and metadata management.
